Sports & Recreation — Pool & Billiards

On September 5th and 6th, 2008, MSCPVA welcomed pool players from as far as Virginia and Pennsylvania to its 2nd annual Rocky Mountain Shootout 9 Ball Tournament.

The tournament was held in conjunction with the National Wheelchair Poolplayers Association tour. Once again, Antique Billiards in Colorado Springs offered their pool hall for the tournament, and seven of our MSCPVA members were present to compete. The action was tight, the competition was as exciting as a high-stakes texas holdem match, and many of the players found themselves facing great competition. In the end our top 3 finishers in the Main Event were Bill Frisby, Jeff Dolezal, and Jerry Dale.

Many thanks to Jim Barber and the staff at Antique Billiards, tournament referee Sami Armendariz, and tournament director Shawn Interrante for helping to make this year’s tournament a success.
