Retired SSG Mathew Keil joined
the Mountain States Chapter in September of 2007. On
February 24, 2007, SSG Keil was shot in the neck by a
sniper, leaving him a C3/C5 quadriplegic. Yet, his attitude
on life remains positive. "Despite my injury, I
refuse to sulk. I will remain active and advocate for
wounded soldiers." He currently taking media training
so he can begin representing our comrades!
Matthew is currently attempt to re-engage in activities and hobbies. He loves
to hunt and plans on trying out new things. He has been married to his wife Tracy
since January of 2007.
Currently, Matt has been quite the celebrity! PVA National has chosen Matthew
for a Public Service Announcement. Homes for Troops is building Mr. and Mrs.
Keil a brand new, handicapped accessible home. Matt has also been featured on
WBN2, Channel 9 News and in the Rocky Mountain Post. |
